Connect Airbnb and Booking.com with iCal
The two links to swap with each platform to import bookings and avoid double bookings.
iCal is a calendar link that every platform can read and publish. It is included in every plan. For a property to sync both ways, you need two links per platform: one you paste into HostlyApp, one you paste into the platform.
1. Import the platform’s calendar into HostlyApp
- In the platform, copy the calendar export link:
- Airbnb: the listing’s calendar, Export calendar.
- Booking.com: extranet, Rates & Availability, calendar sync, export link.
- In HostlyApp, open the property, Platforms tab.
- Paste the link into the platform’s iCal export link and click Link.
The sync starts right away, then runs every 15 minutes. Sync now runs it on demand.
2. Import HostlyApp’s calendar into the platform
In the same tab, Links to import into the platforms gives one link per platform. The link meant for Airbnb contains the dates taken elsewhere (Booking.com, direct bookings, blocked dates), and the other way round.
- Airbnb: the listing’s calendar, Import calendar, paste the “To import into Airbnb” link.
- Booking.com: calendar sync, Import calendar, paste the “To import into Booking.com” link.
Once both directions are in place, a booking on one platform blocks the other.
The platform is the reference
- A stay changed on the platform is updated in HostlyApp.
- An upcoming stay that disappears from its calendar is marked cancelled.
- A listing can only be linked to one property.
iCal sends neither the guest’s name nor the amount. To get them, use the official connection or the browser extension.
